We're not even halfway through the year & I'm already showing more in profit on sharkscope than last year's winner of the single table any stakes leaderboard. According to my Cake & Pokerstars sharkscope #s this year, I've made $175,270 from SNGs on those sites. That's missing about $17K of my actual 08 SNG profit from the combo of playing on another site, chops, & the fact that sharkscope is only 95% accurate. Last year's single table any stakes leader (infamouspade) only made $169,101 in SNGs the whole year. That's some pretty crazy stuff. I was leading the single table any stakes leaderboard by $30K going into last December, which was basically a lock, but then ended up having my worst month ever, losing over $31K before rakeback. The $1Ks were running much more often than normal due to people going for supernova elite & milestone bonuses & needless to say I ran as bad as I could in them. I still made more than anyone in 5-6 seated SNGs but making more than anyone in SNGs period was my ultimate goal. I don't think we'll be seeing another collapse this year as I've made over $65K than the 2nd place guy (DDBeast) this year & I feel I can sustain my win rate throughout the year. You don't get any prize for making the most money in SNGs or anything, but it's fun to follow & it's great for marketability purposes.
I didn't play much this week but I ran like a Greek God when I did so it's all good. I went out on the river one day & then Winona is having it's yearly Steamboat Days, which is basically just a drunk fest, so I went down there the last couple nights instead of playing.
My stakees made $3,587 this week. Mexitexi only played 7 games because he's on a family vacation, & of course 2 of them are in Vegas & not playing as much. I'm excited for 3 of my stakees to be starting July 1st, at which point I'll have 7 stakees. Also, the WSOP will be over in the middle of next month so my stakees who have already started will be playing more. I have high hopes for all of them. Once I have all 7 of them playing & the WSOP is over maybe I'll be able to pull out my 1st $100K month.
I'm currently 3rd on this week's $300+ SNG leaderboard on Pokerstars. Hopefully nobody passes me in the next couple days because I also like $1K in free money. Either way I'll get some money out of it as I'm obviously not falling out of the top 10 in the next 2 days.
Congrats to BigJoe2003 for final tables the Razz event at the WSOP.
Someone asked me this week if I'm jhub3000 on ipoker. Apparently someone is playing under that name on that network. No it's not me. In fact, US players aren't even allowed to play on ipoker as it's for foreign players only. One of my friends was playing w/ someone named jhub6000 at the low stakes Cake games the other day. There's also now a jscrub3000 on Cake, & it's actually 1 of my friends. It's funny because people were asking him if he didn't like me or something because of the scrub part in his name.
I love it when I start up a session & someone in the chat asked me if I ever sleep. Somebody asked me that this week & I hardly even played 20 hours the whole week. Poker is my job and they know that so what do they expect? When they walk into their 40 hour per week day job does their boss say "geez Joe do you ever sleep? Man you've been here at least 40 hours this week." I would guess that they don't. I play poker for a living & play a lot less than anybody works at a normal day job. Stop asking me dumb questions.
Cake added 6 man regular SNGs this week. They now have non turbo 6 man SNGs at the $25, $49, $128, $200, $268, & $426 levels. This should be good as some players prefer non turbos & it gives the high stakes players more games to select from. Even if you prefer turbos, it's certainly going to be more profitable to play a $200 non turbo than a $78 turbo.
I've started reading Gus Hansen's new book & it's pretty decent so far. A lot of books are all based on the same tight-aggressive style, so I like when loose aggressive players come out with books. I plan on reading some of Daniel Negreanu's new book after I'm done with this one.
I've made $6,668.25 in rakeback on Cake this month & $758.23 on my 3rd site. These #s will be added to my results/stats at the beginning of next month when they're paid to my account. My rakeback has been a little lower this month since I haven't exactly been playing a lot.
I was glad to see the Celtics win the NBA championship. KG is my favorite player so that's the team I root for after the T-Wolves. It's just too bad that the T-Wolves have the worst GM in sports & couldn't put enough talent around Garnett to do it in Minnesota. Hopefully we pick O.J. Mayo in next weeks' draft & can start building a respectable team.

Are you talking about Negreanu's book named Hold'em Wisdom For All Players? If so, I am currently reading it. It is less about theory and what to do than most books I have seen and read. I have read and own all 3 Harrington Books. I have read part of Super System and some of Phil Gordon's Little Green Book.
I like the Negreanu book. It is his 50 tips to playing well. Not a whole bunch of theory and sometimes boring reading.
I would suggest it for a good read, just not for theory or how to really get better.
Just my opinion on the book.
Thanks and good luck at the tables.
