I'm done playing for the week. As usual, I won't be playing the weekend. I did pretty well this week. I had a pretty standard week. I didn't run too well on Cake & Pokerstars but I made good money on my third site. I'm really on a roll in the Pokerstars $1Ks lately. Of the 54 I've played this year I've made $8,118 w/ a 13% ROI. Compare that to the 20 I played last year w/ a -61% ROI & losses of $13,614. Obviously it's a very small sample & my long run ROI is nowhere near 13% in $1Ks. However, my long run ROI in them is also nowehere near -61%, or negative for that matter, & it just feels good to finally like be running like complete ass in them.

I've already made more this year than I did in the entire year of 2007. I made $251,388.84 playing online last year, but had $12,350 in live losses from big tournaments, so my total profit was $239,038.84. I've made $244,435.88 so far this year. As far as money made strictly from SNGs without rakeback, last year I made $148,049 & I've made $172,033.27 this year. I think I've improved a lot since the end of last year & really taken my game to another level. I think Playing on Cake has helped my profit a ton as well. Now that I have my special rakeback deal w/ Cake & am getting a bunch of stakees under me I hope I can make $700K to $800K this year. It's definitely doable. I just need to make sure I don't slack off on playing & put the time into coaching my stakees so that they can quickly become top players.

My oldest brother Jeff turned pro this week. I'm really excited for him. He hasn't put in a full week yet because he has his son the last 2 days, but he'll be playing today & tomorrow & has done really well on the week so far. Back in the day when I played $38s I taught Jeff a few things & he would play some SNGs online when he had time. Then he stopped playing for a while. In July of last year he decided to start playing online again & really put in the dedication to eventually play for a living. 11 months later here he is. It will be fun to see how he does & progresses.

I've been pretty busy w/ stakees & some other stuff lately so my sleep has taken a hit. I've only been getting about 5 hours of sleep per night usually, 6 on a good night, as opposed to my normal 6-7 (usually 7). The only thing that bothers me is it makes me somewhat irritable when I'm running bad. In the last week or 2 I've found myself typing stuff in the chat several times when I take a bad beat, which I otherwise rarely do. However, I don't think the lack of sleep really effects my play at all, and in my opinion you can sleep when you die, so I'll probably continue to be lacking in sleep for a little while.

I'm going to be staking jalman69 in Pokerstars STEP SNGs. He's going to be playing mostly $215s & then just playing out his tickets. I won't be doing nearly as much coaching with him since STEPS aren't my specialty, but I have full confidence that he can be a big winner in these games.

Speaking of stakees, my stakee on Cryptologic & IPN started this week. I've also started coaching my other stakees, who will start on July 1st. After July 1st I will have 7 stakees playing under me (2 on Pokerstars & mixing in Cake when I'm not on, 1 on Full Tilt, 1 on ipoker, 1 on Ongame, 1 on IPN & Cryptologic, & 1 in Pokerstars STEPS). That should bring in a ton of money. My stakees I have on Pokerstars & Cake won't be playing much in the next month & a half because they're in Vegas for the WSOP. I'll be heading out there for the Main Event next month. My stakee on IPN & Cryptologic is Mexitexi from Pokerstars & Cake. I've played with him several times before so I know his game & have full confidence in him, especially with my coaching. His name is Mexitexi on Cryptologic & Mexsel on ipoker. Our agreement started on June 1st. He only plays part time so I think he'll probably be putting in somewhere around 20 hours per week. I'll let you know who the other players are when their agreements begin if they wish.

One of my stakees did a cashout this week so I got $2K from that. As I mentioned, cashouts will be kind of random for staking.

I talked to the VP of Cake yesterday about adding regular 6 man SNGs on with 10 minute blind levels on the site. I know there's some players on Stars who want to switch over or at least mix Cake in if they add them, particularly Jon9ball & CSKASOFIA. I also think it would be great for game selection for all players, even those who prefer turbos. Even if a high stakes player prefers turbos, he'd probably still rather play a $200 regular than a $78 turbo. I know I would. The VP liked the idea & the tournament director should be adding regular 6 mans at all levels up to $600 sometime in the next week.

Another thing he updated me on was the status of the Cake shop & new payment processor methods. Both of these have been delayed but you can expect the Cake shop to re-open with new items sometime in the next week or 2. They also hope to have EFTs & moneygram/Western Union up as payment processors within 2 to 3 weeks.

If anyone has Stars or Full Tilt money that they'd like to get rid of let me know. If you want to get rid of Stars money I can either swap you for Cake money or send you a personal check. If you want to get rid of FTP money I can either swap you for Cake or Stars money or send you a personal check. River Prayer was nice enough to swap me $1,500 of FTP money, but I still need about $13,500 on there for a stakee. Dr. Fells is likely getting me $8K on Stars but I could need up to $30K on there because that might be how I'm transferring my stakees their bankrolls. If you're able to get me FTP or Stars money please send me an email at jhub3000@hotmail.com.

I did an interview w/ pokerplasm.com today. It's already up at

http://www.pokerplasm.com/interviews/jared-hubbard.html

I thought the interviewer did a good job & he also got it up on the website extremely quickly. He said that my interview was definitely 1 of the top 3 he's ever done because i do a good job of going into detail.

I was also going to do an interview w/ a poker magazine but they wanted me to also do a strategy article where they revealed my hands for an entire SNG & talked through & anazyzed each hand. As you know, I'm not big on educating my opponents so that interview is off unless they want to do a normal interview or something.

Sparta45 has just started up a blog at http://sparta45.livejournal.com/. He's turning pro at the end of the year. I've talked strategy with him in the past & I think he'll do very well as a pro. He's also very intelligent & I think his blog will be interesting so check it out.

Due to my special rakeback deal with Cake, my rakeback is paid in 2 seperate payments. The first is the standard 33% which all rakeback players get paid on the 1st of the month. The 2nd payment is the difference between 33% & the % I get & that's usually made within the 1st few days of the month. The 2nd payment has to be manually entered by the VP because nobody else has a deal like this. I forget the exact day that rakeback is paid for my 3rd site, but I want to say it's sometime around the 11th.

So far this month I've made $3,291.75 in rakeback on Cake & $305.45 in rakeback on my third site. As is standard, this money won't be paid to my account until the beginning of next month & won't be listed under my stats/profit until then.

Other sites
I really enjoy reading your blog. Im currently playing the 22s, 33s & 55s on Party, any plans on including Party players in your staking/coaching deals?

Re: Other sites
I considered staking players on sites like Party, Everest, & Pacific but opted against it because they don't have rakeback & I'd kind of like to keep a limit to the # of stakees I have, especially for now as I already have money invested in other things, need to keep money set aside for taxes, & need to keep $50-$100K available for a downpayment on a house. I'll let you know if I decide to get a stakee on there in the future though.

bancrol
HUB hi . do you think is possible to build bankroll playing $13 turbo on stars? thanks.

Re: bancrol
It's possible to build a bankroll at any level. At $13s, a really good player could probably expect an ROI of around 14%. That's $1.82 per game. You then just need to figure out how many tables you're playing & multiply $1.82 by that to get an hourly rate estimate. You should then multiply that # by about 1.5 because each SNG doesn't take an hour. Also, if you don't consider yourself a really good player yet you should obviously adjust the average profit. For example, if someone plays 6 tables at a time the calculations would look like this: $1.82 x 6 = $10.92; $10.92 x 1.5 = $16.38; If you're playing on a site with rakeback you also need to factor that into your hourly rate. On stars you don't get rakeback, only VPPs. Playing $13s on Stars you won't make shit for VPPs so you can hardly factor anything into your hourly rate. That's why I recommend playing on Cake. Not only do you get 33% rakeback, but the games are easier so your ROI & average profit will be higher. In a $13 SNG on Cake the rake is $1. That means that for each $13 you play, you will make 33c in rakeback. That may not sound like much but it adds up. To take our example of the player playing 6 tables, that's a $2.97 increase in your hourly rate ($0.33 x 6 x 1.5). That represents an 18% increase in your hourly rate. If you were to play just 20 hours per week at $13s, you would make $3,088.80 more during the year ($2.97 x 20 x 52). That doesn't even factor in the fact that you will likely be moving up in stakes during the year. Once you move up to $26s, the profit difference doubles, and so on & so on. That also doesn't factor in the higher attainable ROI on Cake. If you play $13 turbos on Stars you hate money.

Cake Poker and HUD
Are you using a HUD on Cake? I want to review my hands and use a HUD but I heard PT3 doesn't work on Cake. Just wondering how it works on Cake.

Re: your a liar and joke
You are funny. First off, sharkscope is only 95% accurate. Second of all, if you read my blog you would know that I play a 3rd site under a different name. My sharkscope stats might not even be available for that site.

Lol at me lying about making more money than I have. That sounds like a great idea, if you want to be questioned by the IRS.

You came on here to call me an idiot and a joke, but in the process all you really did is make yourself look like the idiot and the joke.

WP sir, WP indeed,

P.S. Keep drinking that haterade. I'm sure it's yummy.
